Southern Staircase, an Atlanta-based manufacturer of pre-built wooden stairs and stair parts, will lease a new 20,000-square-foot building in McQueen Park to manufacture products for the South Carolina coast.
Southern Staircase has been in the Charleston area for the past two years. It is currently leasing a temporary space at the park until the new building is completed in summer 2006. Nine people are currently working in the facility, but the company plans to hire another 12 employees.
McQueen Park, an industrial park owned by Quattlebaum Development Co. and located in Jedburg, houses a range of tenants, such as Williams Technologies, a Caterpillar Inc. company; Corning Inc.; and Coronet Group LLC.
